Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of this website and the way we quote and carry out work. Using the site means you accept them. If we sign a separate written proposal or contract with you, that document governs the work and these terms fill in the rest.

Using this website

The site is here to explain what we do and to let you ask for a quote. Please do not use it to send anything unlawful, to attempt to break into it, or to copy it for a competing business. Submitting a form does not create a contract and does not book a date.

Estimates and proposals

Any price shown or discussed before we see the chimney is an estimate. A firm price comes in a written proposal after we have inspected the work, and it holds for the period stated on that proposal. If we open up the work and find a condition nobody could see beforehand, such as a hidden breach, an unsafe liner or structural damage, we will stop, tell you what we found, and price the extra work before continuing.

Scheduling and access

We need safe access to the chimney, the roof and the appliance at the agreed time. If access, weather or a building rule stops us from working, we will reschedule at the first opening. Please tell us before the visit about anything that affects access, including scaffolding, alarms, tenants, elevator rules and building hours.

Payment

Payment terms are set out in the proposal for your job. Work is invoiced as the proposal states, and any amount left unpaid past its due date may carry interest at the rate allowed by New York law.

Permits, code and inspections

Where a job needs a permit or a filing, we say so in the proposal and handle it unless we have agreed otherwise in writing. We work to the applicable codes and to the manufacturer’s instructions. We cannot be responsible for work done by others, or for a condition that existed before we arrived and was outside the scope you approved.

Warranty

We stand behind our workmanship and behind the systems we manufacture, on the terms written into your proposal. A warranty does not cover damage from misuse, from work by others, from a fire or a storm, or from failing to have the chimney swept and inspected as recommended.

Photographs of completed work

We photograph our work for our records and for inspection reports. We may also show a photograph of a completed system on this site or in a proposal. Those photographs never carry your name or your address. Tell us if you would rather we did not use yours and we will not.

Our content

The text, photographs, drawings and logos on this site belong to Chimney Professionals Inc. Please do not reproduce them without asking us first.

Links to other sites

Where we link to another site, for example a manufacturer or a code authority, we do not control it and we are not responsible for its content.

Accuracy and liability

We keep this site as accurate as we can, but the information here is general and is not a substitute for an inspection of your chimney. Nothing on this site is a guarantee of a result on your property. To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim connected to this website is limited to what you paid us for the work in question.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, and any dispute belongs in the courts of Kings County, New York.

Changes to these terms

We may update this page. The version in force is the one published here on the day you use the site.
